What is family law?
Family law encompasses legal issues such as divorce, child custody, and community property/asset division.
How can a lawyer help?
A lawyer provides guidance, representation, and support during family-related legal matters. We oftentimes know opposing counsel through our work and are familiar with the judicial officers and their expectations for working a case through to completion.
What should I prepare?
Gather documents like marriage certificates, financial records, and custody agreements, if any. Records of communications like text messages or family communication applications are also very helpful. Intake packets will be sent in advance of a consultation. Please complete and return them no later than 72 hours before our appointment for adequate review by the office and a conflict check.
What are your fees?
Our fees vary based on the complexity of your case; contact us for details. We do bill on an hourly basis and require advance fees be posted at the time representation begins. We believe in being open with our fees so our clients know exactly what to expect. Our fees are competitive given the community standard and our level of expertise and experience.
How long will my case take?
The duration varies depending on case specifics; we will provide an estimate. In many instances, family law cases involving child support and child custody are not truly over until the children reach the age of 18, or 19 depending on your case.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes, we offer initial consultations to discuss your family law issues. Consultations are $100.00 for 50 minutes. Payment is due at the time of consultation. If we both agree to being retained, your payment is applied to your first bill as a credit.
What makes your firm unique?
We prioritize personalized, compassionate legal support for all family law matters. Our experience representing both parents and children in the family court system gives us a unique ability to view a case not just through one viewpoint but to assist our clients in seeing the whole picture.
